I’m disappointed in my experience and end result from my visit yesterday. I always heard great things and sadly I... didn’t get the same treatment as others who raved about Frangipani. I didn’t know they had squeezed me in for a haircut at 5:45. I also didn’t know when I said I’d like a stylist that does well with short hair, pixies in particular, that they would give me to someone who wasn’t so much so. Anyway, it’s the end of the work day. I’m the only one in there. So, my stylist was rushing through my haircut. I got a really lackluster shampoo/head massage. I typically go out of my way to use an Aveda salon so I’m familiar with their Ayurvedic type of scalp massage. Then when I asked about products to style my hair, my stylist either wasn’t a fan of what the salon carried or didn’t really know what I needed. When I asked about setting up maybe a fun vivid color appointment, she told me she doesn’t do those. And I could go look up some color depositing shampoo online. Then promptly ushered me towards the register. I never had someone so uninterested in further making profit with future appointments or commissions off of products. When I got home I realized I have random really long hair clusters throughout my pixie cut. If I can find a way to upload photos, I will. So, I spent my evening clipping random bits of 3 inches or longer hair clusters down to my short length to match. Really disappointed to have wasted money and time.read more

I can easily say the Chandelle, my stylist is amazing and I will always use her. But in no way is it OK for me to come... to get grays out my roots and highlight in my roots w a haircut for 300$ they're my roots so even if you use two products it's still less of it and to add a $30 gloss charge I was never told about is messed up. I would have never agreed to that price beforehand. People must be warnedread more

I’ve lived in 5 states and finding a haircut is exhausting. As a guy that needs someone to cut his hair well for a lot... of reasons, this place was everything I could want. I use Maddy, she’s great. I was a new customer and needed color (highlights and lowlights), and a cut. The coloring was great, and overpriced. ... The haircut was basically just a few snips which was extremely overpriced. I requested my layers be trimmed which did not happen. This is a commission shop and they push the high priced products as well. I will not be back.read more

I cannot say enough fabulous things about Frangipani. I have been going there for almost FIFTEEN years and the level of... professionalism is rare these days and it’s so fun! From the minute I am sweetly greeted by the front desk and other stylist to when I sit down in Kelly’s chair the treatment is superb. For my hair (and others) - Kelly is extremely talented, knows exactly what she’s doing and what I need. She is full of personality, truly is a beautiful person inside/out and is always willing to work with my crazy schedule and is understandable when something comes up or I’m late due to my kids. Clearly, I cannot send enough praise her way! I HIGHLY recommend Kelly and Frangipani- I love it there!read more

Update on my review from 05/07/2021 in regards to the lack of professionalism and poor business tactic of this... salon:An hour after I posted my review, Kelly (my apologies: not the owner but the manager) calls me from a restricted phone number. Since it was a restricted number, I did not answer the call. She left me a voicemail saying that she saw my Google review and to call the salon back and if not, she will call me on Monday. Nowhere in the voicemail did she apologize for the misunderstanding that lead to this and offer to make amends to salvage the business relationship. Instead, she was defensive.So today on 05/10/2021 at 12:13 PM, Kelly calls me but this time the salon number appears on my phone. When I answered, she immediately starts berating me and insulting me, saying that her time is more valuable than mine. She said if I really were 10 minutes late and in their parking lot during my original appointment on 05/06, then I would have came inside the salon. But if someone is rude to you on the phone and tells you to "take your business somewhere else" and hangs up on you, would you want to go inside the salon and continue to be insulted? During today's phone conversation, she again never apologized for the misunderstanding or offer to do something to keep a new client. So I'm not sure what the point of her phone call is except to insult me and be a bully to the point where I just had to disengage by hanging up.In conclusion, this is a poor business tactic. She insulted my job as a physician. Again, this is poor form and an insult to healthcare providers.read more

I have been going here for 8 years now and I love it!! Always super professional and very good service. Front desk is... always so nice. Kelly, the manager, is a master stylist and colorist. And always advises me on what would damage my hair if I want to try something that won’t work on my hair type or color. Also, it is an Aveda salon. Is there an option to give 0 star? Because that is what Frangipani salon deserves. I made an appointment for a women's... haircut with Kelly (the owner) for 05/06/2021 at 4:45 PM. It was my first time here because I am new to the area and my colleagues recommended this salon. I live an hour away and was literally pulling into their parking lot when they called and said "Kelly cannot see you because you are 10 minutes late." I said I drove an hour to come here and I rarely get days off because I am a physician. They told me: "you should take your business somewhere else" and hung up on me. I was shocked. I called back and they wouldn't answer the phone. I've traveled to many places in the US and out of country at top notch salons and have never been treated this way. I posted my experience in the women physician of Jacksonville Facebook group so now everyone knows not to go to this salon because we healthcare workers look out for each other.It is amusing to me that if a patient is running behind, it is unethical and uncompassionate for us to say "we won't see you. Go find another physician" especially if this is the first offense. Yet this salon has no problems treating new clients this way because apparently they don't need any new business.But karma exists and what goes around comes around. What a way to show tribute to healthcare workers who are taking care of Covid patients and yes, who is running behind because work gets in the way.read more

My stylist was lovely and deserves praise, but I’m unhappy with their payment system. Was quoted $35 for a $50 cut. Not... a huge deal, but the tipping system they use if you choose to use your card adds a service fee. I didn’t like that I had to essentially “pay to tip.” Ended up being more expensive than I’d thought. Other than that the place is great.read more

I have worked with several stylists over the years. Each and every stylist has provided me with color expertise as... well as a great cut. I am particular about my color, I get low lights, high lights and sometimes a base break. I often don’t know necessarily how to fully express what I want, but somehow they have always translated what I want to a great color and style. The salon is always clean. Recently I transitioned to the Atlantic location from the JAX beach, location as my stylists have moved. I love the new Modern ambience, but both locations are great!read more

When I moved to Jacksonville, I tried different stylist at other salons but I was never happy. I was recommended by a... co-worker of mine who always had the best cut and color to go to Frangipani to see Katie. I’ve seen Katie for about 4 years now and I could not be happier. Not only is she a fabulous stylist, she’s so friendly and easy going. I’m not someone to go in every 6-8 weeks for maintenance but she always works with me on creating a style that maintains for longer periods. Even when I know I need my hair done, my hair still looks great and grows out well. But when I go in for my appointments, she makes me feel stunning. The appointments are always on time and organized well by staff. The whole time you are there you feel welcomed. Everyone at Frangipani is so kind and knowledgeable. If you are looking for a new stylist, look no further. Katie and Frangipani will always have my business.read more
